Patient Comfort

In Office Entertainment

Mounted on the ceiling directly above the patient, Ephraim Family Dental has a television with local cable television for patient comfort and enjoyment.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous Oxide or “laughing gas” is provided to those patients requesting it.  The administration of nitrous oxide is a safe and effective way to help patients relax.  The effects wear off as soon as the patient leaves the treatment room.

In Office Sedation

The dentists at Ephraim Family Dental provides care for patients with anxiety needs under IV sedation in their own office.  As part of our staff, a Licensed and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist safely performs all of our IV sedation while enabling our dentists to focus entirely on completing your dental care.  This type of sedation is ideal for patients with extreme anxiety when it comes to dental procedures, or for those who are having complex dental work that takes a longer period of time to complete. Although the patient is conscious, he or she remembers virtually nothing about the dental work being performed.

Hospital Dentistry

Sometimes patients have complex medical needs, mental and physical limitations, or age related anxiety stresses that prevent the patient from receiving dental care in our office.  Rather than referring the patient to facilities up north, these services are provided locally by Dr. Thompson in an outpatient setting at Gunnison Valley Hospital under general anesthesia.
